Aziz was by far the best tour guide we had in Uzbekistan. He’s a rare blend of someone who is extremely knowledgeable and extremely personable – he truly does tailor the tour to each individual, you never get the impression that he has any set “spiel” that he recites. For instance, he immediately picked up on the fact that me and my friend had an appreciation for the contemporary aspects of life in Tashkent and took us to not only the traditional historical sights, but also took us to lunch at this modern Uzbek restaurant that was perfectly suited for vegetarians (I’m plant-based). You could also tell that he was always in your corner – we reached out to him for help with a driver in Bukhara and even to send some items I had forgotten in Tashkent back to the U.S., and he was on it immediately. Everyone needs an Aziz in their life when they travel – he made our trip so much more memorable and seamless, and I am forever grateful that he gave us our introduction to Uzbekistan. Aziz helped me and my wife in every aspect of our visit to Tashkent. He picked us up and drove us to the airport, accompanied us on the city tour, purchased the speed train ride to the city of Samarkand and arrange a local tour guide to show us around.
